LABACE 2014

LABACE 2014 is coming to its end. And, as observed during the past 10 years, the Business Aviation sector in LA has grown around 5% on 2013 when compared to 2012. But not everything is good news.

First half year of 2014 shows that it will be a difficult year for the Business Aviation. Manufacturers and service providers contacted during the LABACE exhibitions at Congonhas Airport said they’ve seen already some reduction on sales (both for products and for services). They say that it is a direct consequence of the economic slowdown seen all around LA that is affecting all industry sectors.

It is also a consensus that the operational restrictions imposed during the Soccer World Cup last June and July, on the call of making it safer and easier for the tourists to come down to Brazil, took a greater than imagined impact on Business Aviation activities.

On top of it industry leaders says that the required investment on airport capacity to handle more aircraft, which would otherwise contribute for the Business Aviation growth, has not been seen on the speeches of candidates’ programs in this year’s Brazilian elections. Some investment was seen on the capacity of airports to handle more passengers but none on the capacity of airports to handle more aircraft and thus more air traffic.
